Website audit:an agent walks the site

You give it URLs. An agent opens them in a real browser and works through them the way a first-time visitor would, and the same site is put to eight weighted population groups. What comes back is a journey with screenshots and a clarity and appeal read per group.

What the audit does, step by step

Only what the runner really does.

    1. 1

Opens your URLs in a real browser

Not a crawler and not a rendered snapshot. A browser session loads the pages you list. For a page behind a login you can supply a test account — use a demo account, never a personal one.

    2. 2

Navigates, clicks, scrolls and fills things in

The agent moves through the site: follows links, opens menus, scrolls to what is below the fold, types into forms and submits them where that is safe to do.

    3. 3

      Reports the journey with screenshots

Every step is written down in order — navigate, click, fill, scroll — with a screenshot alongside it. You read the path the agent took rather than a summary of it.

    4. 4

      Marks where it got stuck

Where the path breaks, that break is the finding: a dead link, a control that does nothing, a form that rejects valid input, a page that never finished loading.

    5. 5

Puts the same site to eight population groups

Each group reports first impression, friction and what it needs, with a clarity score and an appeal score. A national average would hide the group the site loses.

    What comes back

    • An overall verdict on the site or set of pages you submitted.
    • The agent's steps, in order, each with a screenshot.
    • Every point where the path broke, and where it broke.
    • A clarity score and an appeal score per population group.
    • First impression, friction and what they need, written out per group.
    • Answers to the specific questions you asked before the run.
    • A downloadable PDF and Markdown report, plus a shareable link.

    The eight population groups

The same weighted panel that runs everywhere else on this site, pointed at a website instead of an idea. The Dutch panel is built on CBS population data plus eight value groups; the US panel on Census Bureau data plus eight value segments.

    Clarity: is it understood

Whether the group can say what the site offers, who it is for, and what to do next — after a first pass, not after study.

    Appeal: does it land

Whether the offer is attractive to that group once it is understood. A site can be perfectly clear and still be for someone else.

    Weighted, not averaged away

Groups are reported separately and weighted by population share, so a segment that rejects the site does not vanish into a mean.

    What this audit is not

Four hard edges. If you need one of these, this is the wrong tool and you should buy the right one.

    • Not an accessibility audit. It does not test against WCAG, screen readers, keyboard-only navigation or colour contrast requirements.
    • Not a performance benchmark. No load times, no Core Web Vitals, no waterfall.
    • Not a security test. Nothing is probed, scanned or attacked.
    • It cannot pass two-factor authentication, SMS codes or captchas. A failed login is reported as a friction point and the run continues on whatever is reachable without signing in.
    • The eight groups are simulated. There are no real respondents, no statistical significance, and this is not fieldwork. No accuracy figure has been published for any of it — /accuracy explains why, and what we intend to run instead.
